Annie Lovell and Bernice Mann at Horse Sense have developed a way of working that helps a horse and rider mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically.
It allows them both to relax and enjoy learning by building up trusting partnerships between horses and their handlers. Everything we do with our horses must make sense to them.
It is up to the handler to make adjustments to allow clear and focused communication with feel.

This process blends Shiatsu-healing, Reiki healing, ground training, Clicker training, and natural horsemanship. When combined, this knowledge helps the horse become emotionally relaxed, mentally focused and willing to participate with the handler.

Shiatsu-healing and Reiki energy allow the horse to let go and work through problems of the past however they have been caused. We have been astonished at the resilience of horses to heal their past fear, anger and resentment which has been causing resistance on all levels. We believe that by working from where the horse is and by being observant and dealing with problems as they arise, deep and lasting changes are possible. Healing horses and seeing the changes is truly inspirational. However it requires time and focus from the handler to absorb change and for a different approach to become a way of operating with horses .

Shiatsu-healing can be particularly helpful when dealing with persistent / chronic physical problems and injuries which are not responding to other treatment.

We combine complementary health skills that can identify problems before they become apparent, but are also helpful and effective in sorting out existing problems, developing a clear method of communication between you and your horse.
