Shiatsu is an Oriental approach to health akin to Acupuncture. Instead of needles being inserted into specific points, the energy system is stimulated or soothed by means of massage and pressure along the meridians, combined with stretches and joint rotations. |
This encourages an even distribution of energy throughout the body, as well as boosting the natural self-healing mechanisms, including the immune system. |
A normal, healthy body will compensate for a problem somewhere in the system. However over time these compensations themselves will lead to postural and behavioural distortions. |
At this point, healing from an external source is of great benefit in encouraging resumption to health. |
